Fire Gully

Western Australia | Margaret River

Our Review

A 6ha lake created in a gully ravaged by bushfires gave the name. In '98, Mike Peterkin of nearby Pierro purchased the vineyard; he manages it in conjunction with former owners Ellis and Margaret Butcher. He regards the Fire Gully wines as entirely separate from those of Pierro. The vineyard, adjacent to Moss Wood, is planted to cabernet sauvignon, merlot, shiraz, semillon, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. Wines are available for tasting at the Pierro cellar door. Exports to all major markets. -JAMES HALLIDAY
