Goaty Hill Wines

Tasmania | Northern Tasmania

Our Review

Kristine Grant, Markus Maislinger and Natasha and Tony Nieuwhof are close friends from 2 families who moved from Victoria to make wine in the pristine climate of the Tamar Valley. Most of the estate-grown grapes are made into the Goaty Hill brand, although 40% is sold for sparkling base wine. There aren’t any goats on the property, but there is, according to the owners, a friendly collection of children and dogs. The vineyard, at 160m above sea level, is free from frost, and is now over 20 years old. -JAMES HALLIDAY
