Our Review
The finely honed, contemporary Barossa wines of Purple Hands are borne out of a partnership between Mark Slade and winemaker Craig Stansborough. Their home estate, the Stansborough vineyard, lies in the far south of the Barossa Valley and is planted with shiraz, montepulciano and aglianico. They also source grenache from the Zerk vineyard and cabernet sauvignon from the Woodlands vineyard, both in the south of the valley near Lyndoch. The range includes pinot blanc, pinot gris and several red blends, one a mix of funky Italian varieties, the other the more traditional GSM. Purple Hands captures the purity and elegance that is possible when the raw materials are in good hands. -DAVE BROOKES

Established in 2006, Purple Hands Wines is a 5 red star rated, boutique wine label from the Southern Barossa, producing fruit driven wines of elegance and texture, with some intriguing blends incorporating Italian varietals. Purple Hands wines are available for tasting at the Artisans of Barossa in Tanunda, where you can book your wine tasting experience and enjoy a range of wine and food options from casual eating and drinking outside on the lawns under the umbrellas, or a sit down meal and wine matching experience in our restaurant Essen.
