Kalleske

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The Kalleske family has been growing and selling grapes on a mixed farming property at Greenock for over 170 years. Sixth-generation Troy Kalleske, with brother Tony, established the winery and created the Kalleske label in '99. The vineyard is planted mainly to shiraz (31ha) and grenache (7ha), with smaller amounts of chenin blanc, semillon, viognier, cabernet sauvignon, mataro, durif, petit verdot, tempranillo and zinfandel. The vines vary in age, with the oldest dating back to 1875. All are grown biodynamically. -JAMES HALLIDAY
