Many Barossa wine drinkers will know winemaker Jaysen Collins who, along with Dan Standish, established the Massena wine brand. JC’s Own is where Jaysen gets to push the boundaries a little while playing with great vineyard sites and growers he has built relationships with over the years. The quiver includes wines from the Adelaide Hills to his Barossa home; from funky, multi-variety, skin-contact whites and carbonic maceration grenache through to sturdy single-vineyard Barossa shiraz. There is a sneaky Barossa vermouth in the mix, too, and the beautifully packaged and enchanting wines are a prime example of the ‘New Barossa’ style. -DAVE BROOKES
