Canobolas Wines

The Smith family, led by Murray Smith, was one of the early movers in Orange. The vineyard has always been dry-grown, gaining strength from the free-draining clay loam derived from basalt soils. The wines are released under 3 labels, the Strawhouse label from grapes sourced from a vineyard immediately to the north of Canobolas-Smith; the newest label is The Shine, utilising the golden mean enunciated by Pythagoras, reserved for very special wines; and Alchemy, a label dedicated to the best blends of the vintage.
