Wines of Merritt

Wines of Merritt is the project of Nick and Sarah James-Martin. Nick grew up in the Riverland, spending his early working life in some of Adelaide’s better restaurants, helping his family establish a vineyard in McLaren Vale. Two years working for WINE Magazine in London facilitated wine travel through France, Spain, Portugal and Italy. He then studied wine marketing and oenology at the University of Adelaide and worked at Rosemount, Vasse Felix and Stella Bella, plus overseas vintages in Hawke’s Bay, NZ, and Languedoc, France. Sarah is a hospitality professional; prior to moving to Margaret River she ran the acclaimed Salopian Inn in McLaren Vale and worked for other wineries in the region. Merritt is the family name of Nick’s great-grandparents. -JAMES HALLIDAY
