The Fokkema family, headed by Spike Fokkema, emigrated from the Netherlands in the '50s. Business success in the following decades led to the acquisition of the 100ha Churchview Estate in ’97 (named for the heritage-listed church that can be seen from the cellar door), and to the progressive establishment of substantial vineyards (planted to 16 varieties), certified organic since 2014. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Churchview Estate is a ‘Single Vineyard’ 100 ha (250 acres) vineyard located in the heart of the world famous Margaret River Wine region in the South West corner of Australia. The maritime climate, the well drained gravely soils, and the undulating aspect together with rigorous organic viticulture practices provides a ‘Terroir’ that ranks amongst the most desirable in the world.
