Cape Landing

Western Australia | Margaret River

Our Review

The current owner, Mark Lewis, purchased the property in '16 from Cheryl and Larry de Jong, who had established the vineyard in the late '90s. For many years the vineyard supplied most of its grapes to other wineries in the area. The vineyard is planted to chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon. Cellar door is currently in the planning. Exports to the Cayman Islands. -ERIN LARKIN

Cape Landing is an independent, family owned vineyard, making classic Margaret River, single vineyard, wines all sourced from an ancient landscape first cleared and farmed by pioneer settlers a century ago during the era of Group Settlement in Margaret River. We continue to develop a distinctly Australian vineyard that integrates biodiversity with fruit production allowing us to focus our efforts on both the restoration and maintenance of native species and the plant communities that support the vineyard ecosystem. Our Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc vines thrive in a picturesque vineyard that spans gently rolling hills, with well drained soils, benefiting in particular from a distinctly Mediterranean style climate; where wet winters and long warm summers create a perfect environment for making fragrant, textured, wines.
