Olive Hills Estate

The Perry family brought a historic piece of Rutherglen wine history back to life when they purchased the neglected Olive Hills mansion and 202ha of land in ’97. The site, including vineyards, had first been developed in 1886, but fell to ruin over time. Ross and Kay Perry bought the heritage-listed house and land and set about returning it to its former glory, including vineyards and wine production. Ross had studied winemaking at Charles Sturt University, while Kay had experience in marketing and sales. Their sons, Harry and Joe, have also embraced the life, with Harry studying winemaking, and Joe planning future studies in viticulture. -JENI PORT
