Our Review
A firm family enterprise, Shiraz Republic is a partnership of Brian Spencer, Cynthia Page and their son, Spencer Page. Brought up on a Yarra Glen dairy farm, Brian worked in community development and social welfare for 30 years before starting Cornella Ridge Estate in the Heathcote region in ’06. The name morphed into Shiraz Republic in ’10 incorporating a vineyard, a brewery – Cornella Brewery was created in ’16 and is run by Spencer’s best mate, Matt van Run – and further developments, most importantly a successful rent-a-row program for amateur winemakers wishing for a hands-on experience. The vineyard/brewery is now a key destination for visitors to the Heathcote region offering pizza and live music on weekends.
