Dirty Three Wines

These days, Marcus Satchell goes by the moniker Mr Gippsland. He’s in demand as a contract winemaker, but his own label, run with wife Lisa Sartori, is the real star. The winery is at the back of their cellar door in a cool, industrial site in Leongatha. Sourcing fruit off the Tilson and Berrys Creek Vineyards has been key to their vinous success. While Marcus will continue to work with those sites, he and a long-term friend with links to the local dairy industry have decided to collaborate, too. To that end, Marcus has planted his first vineyard, in Leongatha South, with nearly 5ha of chardonnay, pinot noir and riesling with small parcels of mencia, teroldego and refosco.
