Our Review
Dick and Dib (Elizabeth) Simonsen began planting their shiraz (with 5 clones) in '94, intending to make wine for their own consumption. With all clones in full production, the Simonsens make a maximum of 200 dozen and accordingly release small quantities of shiraz, which sell out quickly. The vines are hand pruned, the grapes hand picked, the must basket pressed, and all wine movements are by gravity. -JAMES HALLIDAY
