Rosenvale Vineyards

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The Rosenzweig family vineyards, some old and some new, are planted to riesling, semillon, chardonnay, grenache, shiraz, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Most of the grapes are sold to other producers, but some are retained and vinified for release under the Rosenvale label. -JAMES HALLIDAY

About

Five generations have passed since Gottfried and Johanna Rosenzweig immigrated to Australia in 1850, fleeing a life of poverty. They purchased a small farm in the Barossa village of Moculta and today, through hard work and commitment, the Rosenzweig family owns over 200 acres of vineyard on the northern soils of the Valley with the oldest surviving vines planted in 1935. These vineyards have different soil types, micro climates and are managed under Environmental and Quality Assurance programs. Determined to continue the family’s vineyard legacy for future generations, Rosenvale Vineyards was established in 1999. With our minimal intervention winemaking philosophy, the essence of our vineyards is expressed in each bottle. Rosenvale’s Estate label captures the terroir and individuality of our vineyards whilst the Old Vines Reserve label and Limited Release label highlight the best of a vintage.
