Curator Wine Company

The Curator Wine Co was established in 2012 and is located on the western side of Barossa Valley, in the sub-region of Marananga. The property is 30 acres in size, with 22 acres of vineyard. Within this Barossa Valley estate are eight individual blocks, each with unique soil profiles, including quartzite, blondstone, ironstone, alluvial clay loam, sandy loam over clay, and black crackling clay. All of which contribute to the distinctive composition of the grapes produced from these vines. Winemaker and proprietor, Thomas White, is passionate about curating individual wines from each block to show the differences in soil profiles, rootstock, and vine age. The end goal is to make wines that reflect their site through minimal handling and intervention. Although passionate about Marananga and his estate, Thomas also believes in profiling the greater Barossa, sourcing small parcels of grapes from selected older vineyards in Vine Vale, Greenock, Hallet Valley, Stone Well and Gomersal. Curator Wine Co wines are hand harvested, wild fermented, and basket pressed into French oak from selected Cooperages. Applying traditional winemaking techniques, these wines are made in minimalistic style without fining or filtration creating dark, flavoursome and juicy wines with a smooth balanced finish.
