Our Review
Dicey Wines lies in a beautiful position, perched high above and looking over Bannockburn Inlet toward the Kawarau River, and is the vinous lovechild of the brothers Dicey: James the grower and Matt the caretaker/winemaker. Dicey sources their grapes from three family-owned sites. The Inlet lies on loess on a river terrace overlooking Bannockburn Inlet, Black Rabbit on schist just over the ridge and Swansong down the end of Felton Road on the alluvial outwash of Long and Target gullies. The wines are beautifully made and speak clearly of the terroir from where they are grown, all clarity, detail, depth and displaying the fine mineral lines for which the region is renowned. -DAVE BROOKES
