Two Rivers

New South Wales | Hunter Valley

Our Review

Two Rivers has long been a staple of the Upper Hunter Valley landscape. In recent times, under winemaker Liz Silkman, a slick suite of wines has been crafted, nurtured stylistically over several vintages. Ownership of the brand shifted – from the Tullochs, to a collaborative partnership between Ross Crump, along with Colin Peterson of the eponymous Petersons wine label – just in time for the 2022 vintage. It is envisaged that the Denman vineyard and abutting cellar-door facility will remain, while premium red wine production will be increased to leverage a 2nd cellar door in Pokolbin. Farming is conventional yet the style is one that reaps a plump approachability from regional stapes, including lees-inflected semillon, tropical-accented chardonnay and nourishing shiraz with a whiff of reductive polish. -NED GOODWIN MW
