Montvalley

New South Wales | Hunter Valley

Our Review

Having looked at dozens of properties over the previous decade, John and Deirdre Colvin purchased their 80ha in 1998. They chose the name Montvalley in part because it reflects the beautiful valley in the Brokenback Ranges of which their property forms part, and also because the name Colvin originates from France with ‘col' meaning valley and ‘vin' meaning vines. They have planted almost 6ha of vines, the lion's share to shiraz, with lesser amounts of chardonnay and semillon. -JAMES HALLIDAY
